Not going to do 12, but a few that stick out:

The National - Corn Exchange. Always amazing live, this was just a kind of perfect storm - they were playing in a way too small venue for how big they'd got by then, just after high Violet came out. Great crowd, sweltering outside, lots of singing along. A happy time.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band - Stadium of Light. Not this gig specifically, but was the first time I had seen him and therefore something I'd been waiting for for a long time and a very special evening.

Caribou - Swim tour. Saw them 7 times on this tour, all amazing. Turned Shepherds Bush Empire (usually a hellhole) into a sweaty festival tent. Worked a small Bestival crowd into a frenzy. An amazing tour.

The Flaming Lips - Brighton Centre. Didn't know anything about them, got given a ticket on the day. Was therefore a very memorable gig!

Swans - Concorde 2. The most powerful live band I've ever seen. So intense, so good!

Dirty Three - Queen Elizabeth Hall. An amazing live performance. Really powerful music and an incredible feat of musicianship.

Sufjan Stevens - Royal Festival Hall. Had wanted to see him for years. Wasn't a massive fan of current album (Age of Adz). Completely won me over. The whole show was so well put together and an incredible band performance, ending with 25 minute song that had the whole stuffy London crowd dancing around. Amazing.

My Bloody Valentine - Primavera. Getting to see them play loveless was a chance I didn't think I'd get. So loud, so good!

Yo La Tengo - Bexhill. A left field choice. Was just a very memorable gig - tiny crowd and we therefore suspected the band might be a bit half arsed. In fact it was one of the most intense and spectacular rock performances I've seen. Sharing it with such a small group of people who'd obviously made an effort to be there made it even more special.

Sure there's lots I've forgotten. Might do a second batch at some point.
