Not the real one
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/wi...rlds-animals-have-disappeared-since-1970.html

I heard this yesterday and it's actually quite depressed me. This cannot go on or we are gonna have some sort of Armageddon moment in 20 or 30 years. The world is over populated, therefore we are pushing other species out of existence.
But what can we do? If say the number of Animals depletes to 20%, there is no way the earth would be Eco-Stable. This is seriously worrying for our kids and the next generation.

that can't be right, with the exponential rise in f**king cats around !

To be fair, there was a report the other week saying that domestic cats were one of the biggest threats to wildlife in the UK, basically because of the number of smaller animals they kill (I can't remember where I saw it - I was on Paternity leave, so everything blurred into one).

The Fatherland
Where have they gone?

We are going to see the rabbit.
We are going to see the rabbit.
Which rabbit, people say?
Which rabbit, ask the children?
WHICH rabbit?
The only rabbit,
The only rabbit in England,
Sitting behind a barbed-wire fence
Under the floodlights, neon lights,
Sodium lights,
Nibbling grass
On the only patch of grass
In England, in England
We are going to see the rabbit
And we must be there on time.
First we shall go by escalator,
Then we shall go by underground,
And then we shall go by motorway,
And then by helicopter way,
And the last ten yards we shall have to go on foot.
And now we are going
All the way to see the rabbit,
We are nearly there,
We are longing to see it,
And so is the crowd
Which is here in thousands
With mounted policemen
And big loudspeakers
And bands and banners,
And everyone has come a long way.
But soon we shall see it
Sitting and nibbling
The blades of grass
In – but something has gone wrong !
Why is everyone so angry,
Why is everyone jostling
And slanging and complaining?
The rabbit has gone,
Yes, the rabbit has gone.
He has actually burrowed down into the earth
And made himself a warren, under the earth
Despite all these people.
And what shall we do?
What CAN we do?
It is all a pity, you must be disappointed,
Go home and do something else for today,
Go home again, go home for today.
For you cannot hear the rabbit, under the earth,
Remarking rather sadly to himself, by himself,
As he rests in his warren, under the earth:
“It won’t be long, they are bound to come,
They are bound to come and find me, even here.”

Frightening. And yet people still don't want to put environmentalism and sustainability top of the agenda.

Especially Polar Bears.

If those statistics are correct, then according to my Global Warming calculator, that means that there will be no Animals left on Earth by 2050!

so, first step, a cat cull to help build the pyramid of animals back up

limit the number of cats per household by the amount of "hunting space" available / sustainable i.e. 1 cat per 50 sqr meter garden

bring back dog (and add cat) licenses to pay for the admin

makes me wonder how many polar bears are killed by domestic cats

Disembowel the prey item.

Really? Our old cat used to do it with screwed up balls of tinfoil when he had the wind up his tail, and on the basis of what I saw, it must be just about the least efficient way he could possibly have accomplished a disembowelling :lolol:
