Birthday boy Bruno has revealed he was going for goal when he scored for Albion last night.
But the right-back – who turns 34 today – admitted he should also be celebrating a win this morning.
The Spanish raider put Albion ahead with a volley which floated over outstanding Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall.
But the Bluebirds levelled a minute later and held on for a point as Marshall shone.
Bruno conceded the lob over the Scotland international was not quite what he intended.
He said: “It was a little bit lucky. It was meant to be a shot but not like that.
“No one was there for us in the middle so I tried to put it in the net but not quite how it turned out.
“But the important thing is it was a goal and it helped the team.”
He admitted: “We’re frustrated. We did everything to win the match. We had lots of chances.
“I’ll enjoy today. We’ve got family over and we will have a good day. But it’s a shame we didn’t get the three points.”
Gordon Greer (Scotland) and Paddy McCourt, who has been recalled by Northern Ireland, were also hoping to complete a perfect day after international call-ups were confirmed yesterday.
McCourt said: “We’ve drawn another game but we’re not disappointed with the performance.”
