Brighton & Hove Albion host Cardiff City this Tuesday at the Amex in the 62nd meeting between the two sides.

*
In the previous 61 encounters the Seagulls have gained a slight edge in the overall head-to-head record, with 22 victories to Cardiff’s 21, with the teams inseparable in 18 draws.
*
The most recent meeting at the Amex resulted in a goalless draw in what would prove to be a point towards both sides’ promotion hunt. It was the Bluebirds though that reached the Premier League, finsihing top of the Championship, while Albion fell agonisingly short at the play-off semi-final stage.
*
Cardiff’s last victory on the south-coast came in October 2006 thanks to Alan Lee’s 74th minute goal, but in recent times it is the Seagulls who have enjoyed the better of the fixture and are unbeaten in the last four meetings.[h=2]LATEST NEWS FROM SEAGULLS.CO.UK[/h]

Brighton 2-2 Cardiff
Championship
7th March 2012

A late equaliser from Sam Vokes was enough for Brighton & Hove Albion to maintain their unbeaten start to the season, as the Seagulls twice came from behind to claim a point at the Amex. Joe Mason opened the scoring just before the hour mark after slotting the ball in from close range. Ashley Barnes levelled for Albion after prodding home Craig Noone’s cross, but it took just 90 minutes for the South Wales side to regain the lead when Peter Whittingham’s strike from distance flew past Peter Brezovan. Vokes, on loan from Wolves, rescued a point in the 89th minute with another finish from inside the box to give Gus Poyet’s side a deserved share of the spoils.
