Let's face it, strikers rarely excel here:

CMS - scores loads at Peteterborough. Little threat here
Hoskins - 2 goals in 3 injury ravaged years
Vokes -poor return before firing Burnley to promotion
Baldock - last seasons league 1 top scorer goalless so far
Murray - did okay but did even better up the road
Ulloa - strike rate even better at Leicester
Spanish Rod -hopeless
O'grady - 15 for Barnsley, out of our squad
Lita - one goal maybe?

We're a strikers graveyard

Maybe we need a striker coach. What's Michael Mahoney-Johnson doing these days?

CMS - scores loads at Peteterborough. Little threat here - his championship record at Peterborough is similar to what he scores for us
Hoskins - 2 goals in 3 injury ravaged years
Vokes -poor return before firing Burnley to promotion - Inngs was the star
Baldock - last seasons league 1 top scorer goalless so far - he hasn't played two full games yet!
Murray - did okay but did even better up the road - scoring pens...
Ulloa - strike rate even better at Leicester - after 5 games... Not a big enoigh sample to pass judgment
Spanish Rod -hopeless - agree
O'grady - 15 for Barnsley, out of our squad - and rightly so
Lita - one goal maybe?

We're a strikers graveyard

Some thoughts in quote. Disagree we're a striker graveyard. Developing Wood, Murray, Ulloa and Barnes in recent years should prove this.

Sure, some very valid points, (especially regarding how short a spell the likes of Ulloa have had), but let's face it, none of those listed has had the best spell of their career here. Barnes would be an exception in his League 1 days I suppose. Vokes scored 21 times last season.

Exactly. One start, one goal. It was a good goal.

Vs Port Vale not a league game.

Whilst they all count, I am staggered if you think his play in terms of touch, movement, holding the ball and linking with others was anything other than very poor.

I see Charlton didn't keep him on loan for that long either.

But how many of them had done it consistently at championship level before joining us?

We need to stop buying league one caliber strikers
