Season-ticket holder Tom Hylands met Seagulls boss Sami Hyypia at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre last week as his prize for winning the Brighton & Hove Albion’s #GOODLUCKSAMI social media competition.The 22-year-old from Burgess Hill was one of hundreds of fans that sent in a good luck message via social media to the Albion boss after the Finn’s arrival in the summer, and was selected at random to meet the manager and attend his pre-Blackpool press conference.

All of the well-wishing messages sent in by fans were collated and put into a book given to Sami before the start of the season, and Thomas was given his own signed copy by Hyypia after the manager had completed his media duties at the training ground.
