That stretch is an absolute nightmare. I wonder if it could be made 50mph or something during the mornings. There are so many damn accidents there.

People were turning around and driving down the up section of the turnoff by the flyover down to Sainsburys.
Nearly witnessed three accidents as people turned off left and were met by irate drivers trying to get off the a27 coming the other way illegally.

Btw. What is this new way of traffic management that if there is an accident, they shut off the road so they can " investigate" it seems like this is a new phenomenon. Is this due to the compensation claim culture where people see pound notes at accidents and the Babylon have to make sure they are seen to be fully investigating the scene?
It seems like there is not the urgency to get the traffic moving as quickly as they can, rather throw them off and snarl up the surrounding areas.

My wife left for work (from Hove to Shoreham airport) at 7.40am, and arrived just after 10am

When the A27 is closed these days it's not worth trying to go anywhere. Too many people per road down here.
