A football writer and researcher would like to hear from Brighton & Hove Albion fans who attended the 1983 FA Cup Final against Manchester United.

Matt Eastley has already written books about fans’ experiences at FA Cup Finals in the 1960s and 1970s, and is now turning his attention to the 1980s.

Matt told seagulls.co.uk, "The FA Cup Final used to be, by some distance, the greatest day in the domestic sporting calendar.“I'm interested in keeping the spirit of this great competition alive by documenting the FA Cup Final through the eyes of fans who were there.

"I have spoken to several Seagulls fans who were at both matches in 1983 but I'd like to hear from more.“I'm interested in not just what fans can remember of the occasion, but also what they were doing in their lives at the time, the songs they were listening to and the clothes they were wearing.
Fans wishing to share their experiences of the day can contact Matt at matteastley66@yahoo.co.uk
