Albion will face a team with a new – or caretaker - manager when they tackle Cardiff City a week on Tuesday.
Cardiff today confirmed the Norwegian*Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had “stepped down” after a slow start to the Championship season.
Solskjaer held talks with club bosses after the 1-0 home defeat by Middlesbrough on Tuesday.
He joined Cardiff at the start of January, when they were in the Premier League, but they won only five of his 25 league games in charge.
Meanwhile former Albion manager Micky Adams has stepped down as boss at Port Vale after a run of six defeats.
The 52-year-old was more than three years into his second stint in charge.
He said via a statement on the club's official website, port-vale.co.uk: “It is with great sadness that I have decided to leave Port Vale but I believe I am leaving the club in a stronger position than when I joined.”
