9:40pm
A bit harsh on Albion - but they had their chances at 0-0.

9:33pm
All over as*MURPHY hits a volley past Stockdale.
He took it early and surprised the keeper.

9:31pm
Greer booked for a foul.
Albion trying to chase the game at the other end. Gerken saves again - but this time it is easy from LuaLua's shot.
Teixeira replaces Holla.

9:24pm
PARR bundles the hosts into the from close range after Stockdale had parried a shot

9:18pm
Hyam on for Bishop.
Stockdale makes sharp save low to his right from Henshall although*I think the shot was going just wide.

9:13pm
Colunga on for CMS and Henshall replaces Anderson for Town

9:09pm
Clear chance as CMS plays a pass inside to*Holla but he shoots wastefully over.

9:08pm
Stockdale has not made many saves since his summer move but that looked something special as he dived high to his right.

9:06pm
Stunning save - a reflex one-handed tip over by Stockdale to deny Mings.

9:06pm
LuaLua denued by Gerken's save.
Then LuaLua booked for a foul

8:57pm
Albion made quite a lively start to the second half, attacking the goal closest to their fans, and so nearly went ahead from the third of three corners they forced.
It came from the right, delivered by Holla, and Dunk’s downward header was instinctively blocked by Gerken with his foot. It was a fine reflex save.

8:49pm
We are back under way.
No changes.

8:33pm
Mings again got outside Holla late in the half and crossed from the byline. The ball eventually dropped for McGoldrick and Dunk produced some good defending to close him down and clear the danger.

8:32pm
Goalless at the break

8:27pm
McGoldrick whipped a free-kick wide of Stockdale’s near post after a needless foul by Greer on Tabb just outside the box.
In fact, it was so needless, I admit I wonder if he actually caught the Town player.
It is a lower tempo game than at Brentford, which seems to suit Albion.

8:23pm
Forster-Caskey was booked for a foul and things turned a bit nasty for a moment. Anderson also saw yellow for his reaction.

8:22pm
Bruno did well to track another run by Mings and shepherd the ball out as it was crossed towards the left-back at the far post.
But then Albion had a good spell.
LuaLua’s shot was blocked at the expense of a corner.
Then LuaLua led an attack before spreading the ball to Baldock to his right.
Baldock was in space but LuaLua’s pass just made him check his stride. He still got in a low shot across Gerken from 20 yards and the keeper got down really well to turn it behind.

8:17pm
Albion’s first major alarm came on 26 minutes – and it should have seen them fall behind. It was a ball forward into the box by McGoldrick, Murphy got in behind Dunk and advanced on goal.
From the right of goal, he took his time but blazed over.
Though not as far over, it should be said, as LuaLua did from long distance a minute later.
That was a bit wasteful by LuaLua with better options available.
But Murphy’s was a bad miss.

8:09pm
Albion's first goal attempt was a low 25-yard curler from a central position by Holla which was creeping inside the post.
Gerken dived low to his left to hold cleanly, the first save of the game.

8:08pm
Ipswich had a free-kick out on their right which was curled over dangerously by Anderson - and Bruno had to win an important heasder beyond the far post to clear.
The resulting corner dropped inside the penalty box and was eventually scrambled clear.
Then we saw Mings get forward down the Town left. Again Holla, who will spend plenty of time out there in this system, could not prevent the cross and the deep delivery was headed back across goal – and wide – by Anderson.
And then, again, Mings cross, Anderson header*(this time from a more central area)bouncing wide

8:02pm
Ipswich starting to threaten now

7:58pm
Pretty obvious what a key tactic for Ipswich will be – get the full-backs a long way forward and tell them to stay very wide.
Mings, the left-back, has done that already.
He skipped inside Holla easily and his cross was headed away just inside the box by LuaLua.
There were no incidents of note in the opening ten minutes but it was a fairly confident start by the Seagulls.

7:52pm
Ince the holding midfielder, Holla to the right and Forster-Caskey to the left.

7:51pm
Quite a confident opening by Albion, almost all of it taking place in the Ipswich half.

7:50pm
Baldock has started to the right of centre,*Mackail-Smith left of centre, LuaLua not far behind them.

7:44pm
Albion in their orange and black kit tonight

7:42pm
Sami Hyypia has rolled the dice. So will Albion bounce back with a midweek win – for the second time this season.
It is four weeks since the Seagulls freshened things up, went to Elland Road and beat Leeds.
That set momentum rolling after two defeats to open the Championship campaign.
The freshening up this time, after a 3-2 defeat at Brentford, sees Hyypia make five changes to his starting XI to face unchanged Ipswich.
I see it has sparked plenty of discussion among fans following from afar.
Let’s see if it works!
