Cameron is featured/blamed in the video. Will be interesting how he reacts.

Feeling depressed about the world tonight. RIP David Haines.

An aid worker. He wasn't a fighter, he wasn't necessarily standing on either side of the divide, he was there to help. RIP.

Millions of people all around the world protested against the war in Iraq in 2003 - but they didn't listen to us, all they could think about was economic gain. Atrocities like this was the inevitable result.

Hundreds of thousands of innocent people have already died, but when an innocent man like this - a good person, a Briton, a family man - dies as a result, it really hits home.

The evil of IS was spawned by our governments' genocidal & destructive actions in the Middle East. It's important to remember that all their future actions will be motivated by money too, don't let them convince you that further military action there is a good idea, it will just lead to more of this.

Load of rubbish. IS or whatever they want to call themselves are thugs and bullys masquerading on the back of a religion. Western interventions haven't help but they certainly didn't 'spawn' things like sharia law or the desire for a caliphate state.

IS was spawned after Al-Queida were pulled apart to become the next extremists.
If we had never intervened in Afghanistan, Al-Queida would still be around most probably committing similar atrocities.

Whatever the case, an innocent man has been murdered by a small group which needs to be obliterated.
RIP.

Correct. Also does not in any way represent the views of the vast majority of Muslims. Very sad.

Terrible, there can be no justification for killing an unarmed aid worker who came to help.

blamed for what? the west has nothing to do with this religious sectarian dog fight - yes there may have been some catalyst a decade ago, but the actualy grounds for ISIS's existance and ideology are rooted in the origins of Islam. its propaganda, they use this to promote thier cause in the West hoping for some reaction, probably some intervention to further their cause. we should stay out of it.

Rather than make excuses for Islamic ideology driven extremists, why not condemn the killing of a charity worker who only tried to make the lives of other human beings less painful?

C'mon fella, just turn off the agenda for a while?

I was hoping this guy may have been released with secret pressure on the Supporters of these murders by the British Government if this is true and he been murdered we should back our Government on its response. We should never give in to kidnappers however bad it can be.

Can't remember the specifics, but the video features images of David Cameron. He, and previous PM/governments, are mentioned by David Haines (under duress, of course).

But you'll have to forgive me for not grasping the finer details of the message whilst watching a beheading video...

Surely these truly evil bar stewards can't seriously think that these acts will stop the air assaults. I would think it almost certain it will increase them. I'd hazard a guess that when this executioner is finally captured all the do gooders will be defending his human rights and checking him for bruises.

Absolutely. They are murderers and rapists with no apparent reason other than that most of them will have been brought up with much the same. A vicious cycle.

Shocking, but as bad as it sounds - I cant see it ending any time soon.

Images of the beheading are being circulated by extremists, possibly ISIS members, on Twitter via the Top UK Trends. I advise you dont click on these as chances are you will see the incredibly sickening images. How they havent been blocked yet is beyond me.

Hopefully, he can be remembered for his incredibly brave actions by going into Syria to try and provide aid to innocent people, rather than this horrific murder.

Its also reported another British hostage is to be next, in a "warning" by ISIS.

ISIS originates before the Iraq war.

This has **** all to do with the Iraq war.
