Why Bees have got the right man - by former Albion and Brentford star Forster [The Argus]

Not too many football fans outside Brentford had heard of Mark Warburton when he took over as manager.
But for one man with a foot in both Albion and Brentford camps, his appointment as Bees boss was not a surprise.
And he reckons you would get the same opinion from anyone who understands goings-on behind the scenes at the West London club.
Former Albion and Brentford striker Nicky Forster is credited by at least one notable online point of reference as the man who took Warburton to the Bees.
That was when Forster was manager in 2011.
Not so, he insists. But he is happy to report that their association at the helm went well.
And he saw it as logical step for Warburton to be handed his first senior managerial role when Uwe Rosler left Brentford for Wigan almost a year ago.
Rosler would have taken the Bees into the Chamapionship had Marcello Trotta’s penalty been a couple of inches lower on the final day of the 2012-13 season.
But Warburton went one better last term when he guided Brentford to what always looked like being the one available promotion spot once Wolves got into their stride.
Forster told The Argus: “Mark Warburton was close to the chairman and he was asked to come in and work with me. It worked well for us.
“It was clear he wanted to become a manager eventually.
“It didn’t happen at that time but he was made director of football and the club had moved forward at a rapid rate.”
Brentford reached the final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy under Forster’s guidance.
“We worked very closely together and he was fundamental in the success that was going on,” Forster added.
“He is very methodical, very well organised.
“He has managed a lot at junior level and he has also done organisational stuff.
“He set up the NextGen Series for under-20s and that was a great success.
“To me it was no surprise when he got the manager’s job.
“If you were inside the club it was no surprise because he was very instrumental in bringing players in. In terms of appointing someone who knew the club, knew the players, knew how they wanted to play their football, he was in a lot of ways the best candidate."
