RIP Richard. Oddly, I can't help but envy the crematorium technician for that moment when he is gathering the ashes to decant into the urn and finds a set of giant, razor sharp, metal dentures.

Sad news. I only just heard him this week on Radio 4, he was on The Reunion which was about James Bond this time.

I love the scene in Pale Rider when Clint whacks him in the nuts with a sledgehammer and he still manages to get on his horse and ride away groaning "Ice".

I met him a few times. He was working as a security guard / doorman at an amusement arcade in Dubai, when I was growing up there. This was in the late seventies , (ie. AFTER The Spy Who Loved Me came out). At over 7 feet tall, he was quite intimidating...
