Gods country fortnightly
I get the impression a lot of English are of the view if that's what the Scots want let them have it. I for one will be a bit gutted, the break up of the Union is nothing to celebrate and will cause of lot of pain in the coming years..

Glad, I hate this countries extremely tired political structure and I'm praying things like a yes vote will result in it getting the shake up it so desperately needs.

Crap poll by the way.

I feel everyone should have the right to vote for self-determination.

I'm sure the Scots have had the pluses and minuses debated ad nauseum up there, but whether it's good for Scotland in this instance, or whether it's good for England & Wales isn't something that has had a full airing down here. But for something a potentially seismic as this, all we've had from Westminster is tedious political posturing from a group of babbling ad-men masquerading as 'politicians' who couldn't construct a decent case for or against if they tried.

In short, I don't know how I'd feel.

I was feeling Sad and thought that they would probably stay. Now however there does seem to be an upsurge in the YES vote so maybe if that's what they want? I'm hoping if that is the case the Political Parties may start to think about what they can do for the rest of us.

give it another 100 years and I think you'll see alot of change with more and more regions voting for there own autonominous powers

Quebec
Catalonia
Basque Region
Belgium (wallons & flemish)
I doubt Iraq will even exist anymore

I think Scotland will vote yes,but for England i don't think it will be felt that much, whereas in Scotland i think the transition could be a painful one

Voted indifferent, although I would prefer them to stay, but not enough to be gutted. Que sera sera.

But I would like to see them vote no just to wipe the smug smile off Salmond's face.

Goodbye Scotland = goodbye labour : followed by goodbye Europe

Although I have lived all my 61 years within 10 miles of the South Coast, barring being away at university, that scenario would encourage me to consider moving to Scotland..... Or France, or Italy.

Not all of us believe in outdated socialist concepts which only succeed in Cuba and Sweden, unless you prefer repressive nations such as Russia and North Korea. I believe in people being able to make their own way in society without dictation from the centre.

Sweden doesn't seem to do too badly.

I have no problem with people making their own way, as long as it doesn't result in an extreme survival of the fittest sort of society. I prefer one where the less fortunate who need help are indeed helped.
