Did he actually play for the non-league team he signed for a few weeks ago? Doesn't look like he's capable any more.

I think Gazza has come to that point in some alcoholics lives when he knows he cannot defeat his demons and will carry on now for as long as his body lasts. Very sad

He decided to drink himself to death over 10 years ago and started to write a book about it when he holed himself up in a hotel for 6 weeks drinking 4 bottles of whisky a day and lines of cocaine, he said he did not eat or drink any water for 6weeks, was then senctioned when ordering a knife from room service

As if they've not got enough to deal with, what with all the bombings out there.

In other news: always horrid to see someone so completely lost to their own demons.

He desperately needed a loving partner the last few years but it is almost impossible to love an alcoholic and I think the loneliness and pointless day to day existence has driven him to self destruct. A very sad cycle of events

In the field
Almost the saddest aspect of all is that it is now almost impossible for a lot of people, particularly younger generations, to actually remember him as the unbelievably talented footballer that he was.

Take all addicts to a remote 'detox' island with enough supplies of food and water etc. to last them. Return to pick them up 1-2 years later and see what you've got.

No, you'll have an addict that hasn't used for 1-2 years. Once an addict always an addict.

That was what I am trying to say
