Christian Walton

First published in Albion by Brian Owen
Young Albion talent Christian Walton helped keep England’s goal intact last night – in front of Roy Hodgson.
The Seagulls prospect started for the under-20s as they eased past Romania 6-0 at Telford.
They were four goals up when Walton made way for debutant Christy Pym of Exeter City during the second half.
Highly-rated Walton has stepped up into the senior squad for his club this season, working alongside David Stockdale and Casper Ankergren.
He was untroubled as England produced a classy display with senior manager Hodgson looking on.
But he earned applause for his commanding take of a first-half corner.
Albion colleague Jake Forster-Caskey was an unused substitute for England under-21s as they won 1-0 in Lithuania.
Harry Kane’s late header settled the contest in Kaunas although Gareth Southgate’s men had already won the Euro qualifying group.
