We became Champions of England

As Champions of The Southern League, we played the Football League Champions for The Charity Shield

We won 1-0 with a proper Albion legend, Charlie Webb scoring the only goal.

This is the holy grail for Albion programme collectors

Neither - I wish I did have it!

The scan is provided by Peter Irvine, the REAL guru of Albion programmes, who does have a copy.

The shield is at the National football museum in Manchester. I'm pretty sure it has our name engraved onto it too.

Surely The FA will erase all winners prior to 1992, as football didn't count before then

Just above the gentleman in the straw hat, smoking a tab it says Brighton and above the beefy boxer The Villans. I get the Chelsea pensioner, but it looks like one of Tony Bloom's ancestors has photobombed the foreground dressed as a jockey.
