We’re just treating it as just another league game and will work as hard as possible to get a result."
Deanna Cooper

Brighton & Hove Albion women defender Deanna Cooper says the side is raring to go ahead of tonight’s match against Gillingham at the Sussex County FA headquarters at Culver Road, 7.45pm kick-off.Cooper is one of several players including manager James Marrs to take on their former club, but insists they are simply focused on winning the game.
She told seagulls.co.uk, “We’re just treating it as just another league game and will work as hard as possible to get a result.
“It doesn’t matter who we’re playing against or whether we know them from the past. We know that Gills have some very good players and that they like to play football just like we do.”

Deanna says the players were disappointed not to play a game last Sunday, after the Premier League Cup tie with Norwich City was cancelled at the last moment, but insists there will be no lack of match sharpness in the squad.“All the girls were gutted to not play on Sunday, but we had a very good training session instead and feel like we’ve prepared thoroughly going into the game.
“We’re anticipating a tough match and I’m sure there will be a few nerves flying about, but if we play at the same level as in previous games then we’ll be okay.”
