Aaron Hughes

First published in Albion by Andy Naylor, Chief sports reporter
Albion central defender Aaron Hughes has been named in the Northern Ireland squad for their opening Euro 2016 qualifier against Hungary in Budapest on September 7 (5pm).
The 34-year-old summer signing, who ended last season with QPR, will join Mal Donaghy on 91 caps for his country, behind only Pat Jennings and David Healy, if he plays.
Hughes, formerly with Newcastle, Aston Villa and Fulham in the Premier League, is competing with captain Gordon Greer and Lewis Dunk at the heart of Albion's defence.
Greer had already been named in the Scotland squad for their clash against World Cup winners Germany in Dortmund, also on Sunday September 7.
