Kazenga LuaLua was caught on the ankle by an ungainly challenge from former Seagulls development squad defender Raphael Branco.
Our photographer Simon Dack captured what was a painful moment for the Albion winger.
Branco did not even concede a free-kick for the challenge right in front of the Albion bench which incensed the visitors in Tuesday’s Capital One Cup tie.
LuaLua needed treatment and was replaced soon after.
Albion are preparing for their home game against a Charlton side who could have good news in goal.
Stephen Henderson, the former Ipswich keeper who interested Albion this summer, is back in training after a hamstring injury and could return at the Amex.
