Would you donate a kidney ?

After the other kidney thread, and being of paticular interest for me as I need a new one (no, I'm not begging), i was just wondering how many people would be happy to donate a kidney.

It is very easy to get through life on one kidney - I have for 50 years - so would you donate ? Did you know you could (many people are not aware) ?

The op isn't too bad, by all accounts, for either donor or recipient, and obviously it's a huge thing to do.

So who's up for it ?

While still alive - family & friends, sure. Strangers - no.
After death - yep, everything I have would be fair game for anyone who could use it.

I was thinking while you're alive really, after death ought to be an opt out system in my view

Brighton / Hove actually
My brother donated his kidney to his wife and I guess if a close relation needed one I would donate.

Not sure about giving one away to someone I didn't know, unless I was dead.

However if I was being paid a good transfer fee for one I may consider. £100k would turn my head.
