Albion secured a convincing 3-0 victory at the County Ground thanks to strikes from Nicky Forster, Jake Robinson and Dean Hammond.
Forster fired the Seagulls ahead* in the 12th minute before Robinson doubled the lead for Wilkins’ side from 20 yards right on half-time.
Hammond wrapped up the victory in the 73rd minute with a shot into the top corner and added to the feeling of unrest at the County Ground with almost 1,000 Swindon supporters protesting after the game, calling for boardroom changes and for the proposed takeover of the club to be pushed through.
The Seagulls finished the season by narrowly missing out on the play-off places in seventh, seven points adrift of sixth-placed Southend, while despite the unrest, Swindon managed to claim a relatively comfortable 13th-place finish.

Division Two play-off first-leg
Albion battled to a hard-fought first-leg play-off victory in Wiltshire, as Richard Carpenter’s 72nd minute strike was enough to give the Seagulls a crucial lead at half-time in the play-off semi-final.
Carpenter’s goal was the only shot on target for Mark McGhee’s side throughout the entire 90 minutes, as the Robins failed to take advantage of a number of clear-cut chances.
Sammy Igoe struck the woodwork in the first-half, while Tommy Mooney hit the underside of the crossbar from a mere six yards out.
Danny Cullip received the plaudits from an Albion perspective for his fantastic display at the heart of defence, as the Seagulls went on to clinch a dramatic penalty shootout victory in the second-leg and beat Bristol City in the final to return back to the Championship at the first attempt.

Second Division

Albion secured a fine victory in this old second division fixture thanks to strikes from Clive Walker, a penalty from Robert Codner and Garry Nelson. Scottish striker Duncan Shearer was on target for the hosts.
The Seagulls had club legends such as Gary Chivers in the line-up alongside Dean Wilkins, who would later manage the club.
The Blue-and-white-stripes would go on to secure a respectable sixth-place play-off finish, while the Robins languished in 21st place and finished with only two points more than relegated West Bromwich Albion.
