The word on the street is we were exceptional last night but what a pleasure it was to witness first hand crisp, quick incisive passing, particularly those clips shown in the first half.
Everything a Poyet and Garcia team wasn't. If that is a sign of things to come then I'm looking forward to some excitement at long last.
Last season was dull and there were times under Poyet in the championship when I genuinely couldn't have been more bored with the our slow, predictable build up play.
Hopefully this more expansive evolution isn't a false dawn
