With signing of Paddy McCourt , lots of wry jokes about our surfeit of midfielders especially with Bruno playing in the middle for the 2nd match in a row. Yet our squad now looks to be similar in depth to last season in the middle of the park given the players we released or sold. Obviously it looks like a left back /full back and a striker are still on the list but first team squad wise then we are finally back up to midfield strength in volume at least...

Since last year we've sold or released
Andrews,Orlandi,Buckley, Lopez, and Bridcutt

We've also bought
Stephens, Toko, Holla, Teixiera, and now McCourt

we still have
KLL, Agustien, March, Ince, Crofts and er Bruno.

We don't have, i think, any more "midfielders" in their various varieties than last year.

*barring the few months we had Conway due to our wingers being injured in Sept/Oct/Nov last season.

I noted that when 'proving my point' a week or so ago.

TBH my flabber was agast at that fact.
It certainly made me pipe down pretty quick.

But hey, 'never let the truth get in the way of a good argument'.
