I think it depends how old they are and if they have adult supervision. The scenario is not clear on either points.

I think that if they were supervised properly by an adult and the power was switched off then I believe that it would be quite safe.
Could these particular children be trusted to concentrate on what they are doing, whilst they are up the stepladder though? Seems an unnacceptable risk, to be honest.

It might be a table lamp though. The OP hasn't described the scenario very well at all.
They're not though, it clearly says "let's go ride OUR bikes", so I'm guessing we'll get an answer if we follow this instruction. I'm just off to get my BMX.

I'm confused by the tense/perspective in the question.
It asks how many children with ADD it takes to change a lightbulb as if the person asking the question is separate from them, but the comment about going to ride a bike suggests they are one of the children with ADD.
If it's the former, I don't see why the person can't answer the question regardless of where the children have gone. If it's the latter, why it wasn't a question of how many "of us" it takes to change the lightbulb.

Yes but who wants cottonwool kids? Start them off changing lightbulbs and who knows, they might be inspired to take up a career as an electrician later in life.
Is it ADD kids that are good at remembering stuff, as in Rain Man? They might have an aptitude.
I assume the OP has done proper research on the subject. I'd like to think he's done tests using many sets of children with ADD from all walks of life and come up with a mean value using appropriate statistical analysis. I won't be happy unless I see graph with a proper bell-curve.
That's very true. It really would be useful to know what kind of lamp / light we are referring to, for us to be expected to come up with an educated estimation of the numbers required.
A big high ceiling lamp is going to require someone holding the ladder still. Maybe someone else to pass a heavy glass shade down to. Also, will the replacement bulb be provided to them, or are they expected to identify, and source, the correct one? And who is paying for it?
It might even be the indicator bulb on a 1987 Escort XR3i? Could be anything, frankly.

Whether they are light bulbs (Crocuses), or heavy bulbs (Crinums), it's a few months too early to put them in. October is the best time, in order to get them established before they flower in the spring.
Why would you want to change them? If you leave them alone, the display should get better and better as each year goes by.

Have we run out of light bulbs? Is that why we've got to get on our bikes? To hot-foot it down to B&Q to get some new ones? If that's the case, we're better off waiting until tomorrow; it's 10% off day on Wednesdays for pensioners, so you stand to save a bit of money if you're patient (and you know someone above the age of 60 (or is it 65).
