That would explain the tweet from one of under 18s along the lines of 'got shown how to play football today'.
That league will be tough going for the youth but will only improve them

"History doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme." Albion's first team, of course, lost by exactly the same score, to exactly the same opponents, almost exactly 35 years before (August 18 1979), in their first ever match at the highest level.

The U-18 league is organised by geography (unlike the U-21s, which has a first and a second division, with promotion and relegation). Will be interesting to see how they adjust to the higher standard as they go through the season. Of course, it ultimately isn't about results, it is all about developing players who can eventually progress to the first team.

The report states that Stephy Mavididi completed the win with the fourth goal one minute from time.

My favorite poster is online, evening AZ Gull

Maybe the 0-4 loss to Arsenal last weekend wasn't so bad after all - the Gunners youth team beat Chelsea 5-1 on Saturday!

Albion had a 1-0 win at Fulham to get their first points of the season, although the Fulham report makes it sound as though they were under the cosh - Fulham U18s 0 - 1 Albion U18s
