Right.... This should be fun

Stockdale- 5 done ok couldn't do much with the goal, kicking was ok but sometimes way way to quick
Calderon- 4 just a poor defensive display, seemed scared to but a cross in to the box
Hughes-3 looked dreadful, out muscled in nearly every header seemed to lose his man for the goal
Greer-3 very very slow, didn't seem like his commanding self today
Chicksen- 4 same as Calde

JFC- 2 utterly useless, couldn't pass, couldn't shoot, couldn't cross if I'm honest why does he even play?
Ince 3- terrible passing performance, wasn't the beast he normally is
Bruno- 4 he isn't a midfielder!!!!! Some nice turns but that's it
KKL - 6 didn't do much tbh but only player who looked decent on the ball
O'grady- 1 utterly woeful, if he's are replacement for ulloa were pretty bugged
CMS- 3 HE ISNT A TARGET MAN!!! Why do we go route 1 up to
CMS, and as per usually runs a lot

Subs
Teixeria- MOM 6 looked good on the ball, was the only one who had a clue, always wanted the ball decent debut
Fenton- 2 well out of his league, poor

Stockdale - 6 - Did nothing wrong and commanded his area well. Feel a lot more confident with him already compared to PIG when coming out for crosses
Calderon - 4 Poor all round. Feel this could be his last season with us as his legs seem to be going a tad. Lost it going forward today too, needed to look up and pick a pass rather than lumping it. Tries harder than anyone though.
Hughes -4 First half was just about ok but really poor in the second half, especially against their strong number 10. Kept getting the wrong side of the opposition and letting them run away from him.
Greer - 5 Spent most of the day firefighting against issues being caused by a weak back four. Would like to see Dunk alongside him against Leeds to provide a bit more pace through the middle
Chicksen - 4 Got worse as the game went on, did not look confident, especially going forward. We need a more experienced LB for him to learn from as he does not look suited to a LWB role at the moment

JFC - 2 ****ing abysmal. Absent for most of the first half. Wished he had been absent in the second half. Dreadful over-hit pass out of play on a rare Albion counter attack that really sums up his game and ability right now. Literally spanked it out of play
Ince 3 - A cross between Bambi on ice and a daddy longlegs. Hasn't reassured me in either pre season or the games so far. Doesn't seem to know where he is on the pitch and in constant danger of giving the ball away.
Bruno - 4 Some nice turns and idea's but nothing came off. Would rather he player RB, Calde at LB
KKL - 5 Always in a crowd when he picked up the ball and not able to run at the opposition or get a shot away. Didn't suit a central role today and much prefer him out wide using his greatest weapon, his pace. Couple of decent corners though.
COG - 2 Looked every bit a league 1 standard lump today. The odd decent flick on but slow, cumbersome and caused absolutely no threat to the opposition.
CMS - 3 Will be moving on in the summer if these performances continue. We were not playing to his strengths again but quality strikers make chances for themselves even if they are given poor service. CMS doesn't look like creating chances for himself right now and without the midfield to put them on a plate for him I fear he will just not score goals

Subs
Teixeria - 7 Changed the tempo and looked a threat however looked on a different wavelength from the rest (as he was actually trying to create). Summed up today's team performance when he got on the ball for the first time and started running at them but after seeing no movement or options being created by the other players kind of stopped and shrugged at them in a 'Are you going to make any runs or what?' kind of movement.
Fenton- 3 Didn't have much time to influence but did nothing of note. Big difference to his pre season promise

Stockdale- 6 got his kicking wrong at times but at least he was trying to be positive. Long to CMS over the top didn't work once though
Calde- 4 too slow to be a wing back
Greer- 5 a few nice balls but dragged around a bit
Hughes- 3 not as good as Dunk by far, lost the ball 3 or 4 times when trying to shield it up the line
Chicksen- 4 tried hard but doesn't look up to this level (yet hopefully), could have done better to challenge the cross?
Bruno- 3 overhit loads of passes, the standard couple of fancy flicks that look nice but are ultimately pointless. Needs to play at RB
JFC- 2 non-existant, dead balls poor bar one free-kick on goal
Ince- 3 very poor today
Lua Lua- 5 clearly earmarked as our only threat and crowded out each time he got the ball
CMS- 4 not good enough
O'Grady- 3 poor

Subs:
Teixeira- 6.5 tidy, skilful and direct. Denied a higher rating by virtue of nobody being available for him to pass to
Fenelon- 2 way out of his depth

Well that's encouraging some 1's 2's and 3's. Feel sorry for the 1000 odd that traveled.

It was a decent and passionate turnout and deserved better than the shit we had to witness on the pitch. Awful, clueless, shapeless, aimless, futile and so lacking in confidence might just sum up the Albion today.

Stockdale 6 - hasn't made a great save yet but looked quite solid
Calderon 5 -
Chicksen 5 - I still see the potential, he needs the game time, should possibly go out on loan when we find another LB
Greer 5 -
Hughes 4 -
Bruno 6 - not his best position but looked like he cared more than anyone and did ok
Ince 5 - not great on the day but always involved
JFC 4 - struggling to see what he brings to the team
KLL 5 - let's leave him as an impact sub please
COG 5 - can hold the ball up, needs a goal
CMS 3 - awful, no control, fell over at every opportunity. We need to replace him.

Texeira 6 - the class of the field when he came on. Will we drag him down to our level or be inspired by him?
Fenelon 4 - hardly noticed him.

So Fulham did a good bit of business off loading Hughes and Barnsley a good piece of work getting 500k for a L1 striker, sort of shows our ambition at the moment

David Stockdale - Made some great stops, seems like one of few leaders on the pitch, kicking was good apart from a couple of rushed attempts. Didn't look to have too much chance with the goal.

Inigo Calderon - Passionate, but started to look a touch out of depth at this level.
Gordon Greer - Looking in his best form this season.
Aaron Hughes - Weak today and beaten to some balls that he shouldn't have been, Dunk for me.
Adam Chicksen - Left woefully exposed by the non existent left winger who left him like a lamb to the slaughter. Struggled, but tried hard.

Rohan Ince - Won the ball well but didn't have the composure to distribute it, needed a shout from a teammate most of the time.
Jake Forster-Caskey - Needs to take more responsibility on the ball, great free kick well saved. Looked better when Joao Carlos Teixeira came on, they linked well.
Bruno - Started well but faded. Prefered him in midfield than right back. (not sure his positioning was any different!!!)

Kazenga Lualua - Very immature performance defensively with a young full back behind him. Kept coming too central and clogging up space, did nothing positive going forward. (If he was told by SH to play inside it was poor management.)
Chris O'Grady - Really poor apart from a header from a corner. No partnership at all with CMS.
Craig Mackail-Smith - Lots of running, poor service, some sloppy touches. Tried.

Subs:
Joao Carlos Teixeira - Very good, made space and wanted the ball, good passing. Only negative is he was the only player we passed to once he came on. (not his fault.)
Shamir Fenelon - Anonymous.

Stockdale 5 Couldn't do anything about the goal, commands box well, kicking a big PIG'ish
Calde 5 Worked sort of well with Bruno, not as swashbuckling as I would like
Chicksen 4 Liked getting forwards but allowed the cross that led to the goal
Hughes 4 Went missing for the goal, more route one than tippy-tap
Greer 6 Battled well

Bruno 6 Looked the best of a bad bunch in midfield............and he's a right back
Ince 3 Needs too many touches to control the ball
JFC 3 Did the simple things poorly, one good free kick
KLL 4 Looked lost in a tucked in role

O'Grady 4 "O'Grady, whoooah, O'Grady, whooah, He comes from Barnsley, He's better than Messi". Looks like a slightly shorter Les Ferdinand, plays like a slightly slimmer Les Dawson
CMS 3: Has taken over from Ulloa and Barnes as our striker who moans to the referee for 90 minutes. Poor all round, my garage door can trap a ball better than he can.

Subs:

TexMex 6: Lots of skill, trys to do too much
Fenelon 2: Very poor, thought we couldn't get worse substituting the appalling CMS, but I was wrong

Hyppia 4: Spent 90 minutes welded to the bench looking as if he had left the gas on at home

Special mention for passionate player of the day, Casper Ankergren, who went totally disco at the B'Ham time wasting tactics (which started in the 53rd minute) and gave a fantastic earful to one of their players who took three attempts to pick up a ball for a throw in.

Err, apart from that howler half way through the first half that almost put two of their players clean through on goal.

To be honest kicking the ball to the opposition just short of half way when we had all four back was a drop in the ocean compared to most of the **** ups made today. If you call that a howler I'm glad we don't have Casper in goal every game!

Thought the ref was very poor, and was getting ready to card CMS for dissent, hence the substitution.Totally different performance to last year from nearly a different squad, but I thought they all tried.Portugese lad reminded me of a fellow countryman who played for Birmingham,Jose Dominguez, quick and full of tricks-could be a very good signing.

Way out west
The two central defenders were ok.

What annoyed me most was that all the passing skills introduced by Gus were entirely absent. I do not want to see my goalkeeper lumping the ball down the middle all the time when we do not have a big striker who knock it around.
