"Hi Steve, it's Tim, where are you?"
"Hi Tim about to drive into Brighton's new training complex"
"Well don't Steve, turn around and come back ooop noooorth, Burnley have offered an extra five bob a week and a £7 signing on fee"
Or possibly something like that, looking at this whole shoddy business both clubs were holding out for the best possible price and who can blame them, with the Agent holding the upper hand regarding personal terms. Personally I believe but for the Agent this would have been a done deal a long time ago. In the end we have been turned over by sheer greed, forget the notion of playing Premiership football for a moment and consider this. Sean Dyche must have spoken to Kenny Jackett about Wards availability and the personal terms we had offered him to suddenly ring Wards Agent and offer a better deal and it only had to be £500 pw more or rather £25k per year to do the deal. Sorry but Jackett, Ward and his Agent knowing about Burnley's interest and how much we valued him played us for fools.
