Im astounded to see some on here blaming Ward for being some sort of traitor mercenary. We could have got this deal over the line weeks ago for a low six figure sum, compared to the £15m+ transfer income we have received, yet its Steven Wards fault hes opted for a last minute offer probably somewhere hes been made to feel really wanted in the top division?

Our recruitment policy is a shambles and the petty haggling stops firmly ay Blooms door. I feel sorry for Burke dealing with the shat hand hes been q given.

Well we don't really know but if he's agreed to sign then just not shown for his medical it is a bit out of order...

He failed to turn up to our medical. Regardless of whats happened, failing to turn up is pathetic and disrespectful.

Of course, it is the clubs fault that he didnt turn up though...

I believe we prob haggled as we believed Ward wanted to come here. We get it all sorted and then a bigger fish turns up last minute and gobbles it up. Be a lesson learnt i think that if you really want a player go get it done.

What like Clayton allegedly did twice to 'Boro? At least Burnley still forced it over the line, something we don't seem (to be able to do - at the moment anyway).

Can't blame Ward one bit. We shouldn't have dragged this one out. Blame our club for this.

It's their fault the medical was on August the 14th though no??
Should've sorted this out months ago.

Has he signed for them now? He's hardly had time to talk to them. Clayton was supposed to go to Boro twice for medicals and didn't turn up.

I'm not saying he is coming back to us, but this saga isn't finished yet.

Totally agree, okay we had to agree a fee with Wolves but out of the 15 million plus we've received last year that shouldn't have been a problem, we're probably only talking about 1 million...the wage does us every time, why haggle him down from 13K a week to 10K, the extra 150K a year is a paltry amount considering the huge FFP bollocks cut of our wage bill, must be nearly half of what it was during the Gus era....forget hitting the ceiling, we're crawling around on the floor here....I will not be spending any more money watching Brighton until they spend some, it's a joke!

He shouldnt even be in a position to be offered a deal to not turn up. Would you not take a better deal if it were your livelihood? should have sorted him 2 months a ago. We are a farce!

He had a chance of joining a (current) Premier League club and, doubtless, being paid a load more than what we were going to pay him. Something which people have defended Ulloa and Buckley for doing and they had contracts which (allegedly) bound them to us.
