Only been at Hull for 5 minutes and has played well there.
A quality, mobile, fast forward.
But S'ton have £100m to burn. The new Sky deal and ever increasing CL money is fuelling all this.

Let's insist on more far more £ for Buckley.

WBA to Hull in January 2014 for a reported fee of £7m.
Even Hull could not say no to that. Fee's being paid are madness.
If only we entered the party (not for him but anyone).

He's shite....christ that's pathetic money for him

You ever seen him play? Other than MoTD highlights. I have seen him in the flesh on several occasions and he is a decent player. 12million is a little steep but when ulloa has gone for 8 and McCormack for 11 its a decent price in the current Market.

He scores once every 4 games, that's been the case throughout his career bar the championship with reading, that boosted it for him.Has a fair few injuries aswell, shocking fee.

Barely has hit double figures throughout his career:lol:

The Ulloa and McCormack fees stand out as the shockers this summer. Based on Championship football.

Long is a reasonable PL finisher, but a great athletic footballer and forward who hassles defences with fantastic pace that he keep up for the entire 90. Good PL team player.

Liverpool have asked Southampton if they can have first refusal with a bid believed to be around 23m

This is why I'm starting to fall out of love with football. It's like the Conservatives are running it.

Actually it could be argued it's more akin to that splendid 'New Labour' ruining things. Actually. It's not sustainable, spending £10M+ on players whose true worth in terms of projected return on investment is more like £250K. Staying in the premier league is what's fuelling these ridiculous fees yes, but ultimately (however) three teams will still be relegated and the only 3 can ever come back up, end result eventual financial ruin for one or two. I wish them luck.

Meades Ball.
