Norwich took an option out on his contract in the summer but he has been given no playing time.
The option would appear to ensure Norwich get a fee for him ( i know).
He is clearly unhappy at Norwich as he used twitter to confirm he was fit and ready to play yesterday at Wolves when he did not even make the bench.
If we are to seel Buckley here is a ready made replacement.

If Buckley goes, that would be a very good replacement.

If we sign a replacement it will not be an out and out winger IMHO. Going to be a inside forward type player such as Lingaard

Yep, if Sami keeps the same tactics for the season there'll be no room for wingers.

Having lived in Stockport for way too long now, they all rave about him up here.

Can't say I know much about him, but if he's half as good as they think he is here, then probably worth a look.

Pilkington doesn't have to play as an orthodox winger. Would be a brilliant signing assuming he is fit.

This. I thought he was more of an inside forward. Amazing signing to replace Buckers. Though on decent money I would have thought.

I agree would be a great signing and can score goals. Averages 1-4 everywhere he has been.
He has however played generally as a winger.
If he can play as an inside forward and suit the tactics Hyypia wants to play i am all for it.
Just think we need to sign players to fit the system rather than keep trying to bang square pegs into round holes.

Pilkington's wages in my opinion would be a huge issue.

And Bennett started for Norwich so highly unlikely he is available

If he's MUCH better than WB he would be playing for Barca. Will is an excellent player, and lightning quick. Could be great for us this season.

You should be on stage. When was the last time Buckley had a good game? Cos I can't remember.

The possible problem is is confidence - we know he's got the pace, but he seems reluctant to use it in case he does himself another injury.


As for Pilkington, i'd be delighted to have him here. Whether it's likely or not remains to be seen.

I think that if they're going to lose any of their wingers it's most likely to be Redmond. Couldn't see them selling both.
