I’ve been very happy with the timing and organisation of pre-season so far "
Tracy Doe

Brighton & Hove Albion elite women and girls’ football manager, Tracy Doe, says the side’s preparations are right on track ahead of the new season. The Seagulls continued their 100 per cent pre-season record with a 4-2 win over an Arsenal Ladies Development side at Sussex University, following 5-0, 6-0 and 6-1 victories over Fulham Foundation, Southampton and Crystal Palace respectively.
She told seagulls.co.uk, “We’re definitely on track. There are still a few things to work on and the players are still some 10-15 per cent off full match fitness, but we’ll get that with more pre-season games.
“The results have all been positive, but it’s more important to define the roles and responsibilities of individual players within the team.
“We’ve brought in some experienced players that are very professional in their outlook. They’ve come into a young squad and we now have individuals that can be leaders on the pitch.

“I’ve been very happy with the timing and organisation of pre-season so far and I expect us to hit the ground running for our first league game.”The head of women’s football at the club was also keen to praise the impact of new first-team manager James Marrs, who has already made a big impact since his appointment last month.
“He’s had a very positive impact on the girls and everything on the grass has been top-drawer. His organisation and motivation skills are second-to-none and he’s a pleasure to work with.
“It helps us being able to use the fantastic facilities on offer at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre.
“England international footballers don’t have any better facilities than we have preparing for Albion women’s first-team games, so this can only benefit us in this crucial period.”
