This German conveyor belt of talent is pretty good isn't it?

Thanks Greens :(
Here's the German and England teams from the U21 Euro 2009 final, which Germany won 4-1

Germany: Neuer, Beck, Boesnich, Howedes, Boeteng, Khedira, Ozil (Schmelzer 89), Wagner, Johnson (Schwaab 69), Hummels (Aogo 83), Castro...

England: Loach, Cranie (Gardner 79), Gibbs, Cattermole, Richards, Onuoha (Mancienne 46), Milner, Noble, Walcott, A Johnson, Muamba (Rodwell 78)...

Bit of a different outcome for their class of 2009 to ours it would seem ???

The german league also seems to allow young homegrown players to develop. In the PL it is rare to see talent given a chance.

It might be a conveyor belt, but it's no sausage train:-

This was mentioned in another thread as well. I wonder where the issue lies. Is the selection process wrong? Were these English guys really the ones with the most ability and/or potential at this time or did the FA choose the wrong bods? Or were the best selected and the subsequent training or academies of no benefit? Or did they sign life-changing contracts and just give up?

Very impressive! However, I think Southamptons conveyor is more impressive, endless talent produced by that academy, what do they have that other 'bigger' clubs don't?

Catchment area.

They set up their academy with the new stadium at exactly the right time.

Pompey had just disbanded their yoof set up
Bournemouth didn't have a pot to wee-wee in, and yet they were still better off than us.

Throw a £15m 'wonderkid' into the mix and every parent with a half decent kid, south of London starts to beat down their doors.
It then becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.
