Is it just me, or is he a whinning git. I was mystified that he was given the captains armband, mainly because of his outlook. I've also seen his arse go too many times under pressure, and that big 'huddle' he did about 4 games to go, went against every top manager's mantra of....."One game at a time - we've won f*** all yet."
He's a very good player, and has paradoxically been most effective since he was put in front of the back line as a sweeper - it always mystified me about the notion of "him and Lampard not being able to play together"........didn't any manager think of saying to either of them .....'You play here, or **** off - I'm the boss'?
