After 50+ years on this planet I have just seen in the commonwealth games a competitor with the same surname as my own.

No matter what the sport / Olympics , football,rugby cricket darts snooker etc etc i have never encountered it untill today.
Is this rare?

only a ice hockey player for me, don't remember noticing any other sportspersons with my last name so can be quite rare, obv depending on ur last name, im sure Mr Smith has a fair few
