US gov guilty of murdering MLK Jr?

Have just seen a report that in 1999, the family of Martin Luther King won a civil case that found the US government guilty of killing him unlawfully. I had never heard about it. Can anyone confirm this? If so, is it not crazy that it was kept so quiet that most don't even know about it? I guess when you look at JFK, RFK, weapons of mass destruction, Dr David Kelly, 9/11, NSA & GCHQ surveillance, Edward Snowdon, etc etc, added with a biased/controlled mass media. It probably isn't actually that crazy.

The case was against someone else and not the US government. A secondary question to the jury was around whether or not they felt that other parties, and that could include government agencies, had also conspired. The trial was a farce.
