Stephen Henderson will be keeping goal against Albion this season, not for them.
The West Ham custodian has joined the Seagulls' Championship rivals Charlton from West Ham on a three-year contract.
Henderson will be working under former Albion No. 1 Ben Roberts, who is Charlton's goalkeeping coach.
The former Republic of Ireland under 21 is one of several keepers Albion have been interested in as a replacement for Tomasz Kuszczak, who was released at the end of last season.
Another Irishman, Keiren Westwood, went to Sheffield Wednesday.
Albion have also showed interest in taking Stoke's Jack Butland on a season-long loan.
The latest name they have been linked with is Fulham's David Stockdale, who has a year left on his contract at Craven Cottage.
Henderson will face Albion when Charlton visit the Amex on August 30.
