Agreed, this annoyed me a little.

No doubt they all had 8 Simeone on the back too.

Let's hope they blubbed as much as the Argie fans and players.

Why has he gone down in your estimation?

Have you got kids?

They tend to choose exactly what they want to wear and if you suggest they don't wear what they want, it makes them want to wear it all the more.

If he had worn an Argentina shirt, fair enough.

i'd hazard a guess the kids choose the shirt, and did so because of Messi.

Exactly this - was only having this conversation last night.. kid's seem to support players as wells as teams these days, more so the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar etc. They still have their team (Albion obviously), but like to follow the best players because that's who they aspire to emulate... All I have heard the last 5 weeks is Neymar this, Messi that - is Neymar still in the World cup...

I am not too sure about that, perhaps me and you but one of the world icons it offers a greater interpretation than 'kids being kids' and he knows it.

The Argentinian football team are never shy of offering up their own take on political issues such as the Falklands and for many it has significant implications, emotionally and physically.

I am guessing 'his people' did the maths and said hit on the South American people and sway favour, but although I think Beckham is ok,to me he has only ever been a good ex footballer that had a great career and adores publicity.

Nothing wrong with that, but nothing great in it either.
