Sami Hyypia was pleased with the application of his players during the 4-0 win over Partick Thistle but says there is still plenty of work to do ahead of the new season.
He told seagulls.co.uk, “It was a very good workout for the team and I saw many things that we have been practising on the training pitch, and the pre-season games are for that.*
“Of course when you win using what you practice, that gives us confidence to carry on practising those things so the next time we do them even better.*
“I have a few things that are very important for me and how I like to play football, and now I hope that during this season I don’t have to coach that much as the players have the ideas already in their heads.*
“Now we are just in the second game but as we play more games that will get into the ideas more and more.”
