The walking football sessions are part of a number of free or low cost activities offered by the Young at Heart programme. Next Wednesday’s (July 16th) event takes place at Littlehampton’s Southfields Jubilee Centre playing fields between 9-30 and 11am and organisers are encouraging over 65’s to come along, meet Mullery and take part in a free walking football taster session led by AITC coaches.*
Mullery, 72, who won 35 caps for England and managed the club during its most successful period said, “This is a great way for older people to stay fit and stay involved with football in a fun way.*
“It is really important to look after your health when you get older and stay physically active for as long as you can. I’ve never played walking football so I’m really looking forward to giving it go.”
