No, helicopters only until the US built fighters arrive in about 5 years. In which time the other carrier will be either moth balled or sold.
No disrespect to her maj but it should have been named Ark Royal.

I think it would have better if it was nuclear powered, but I guess at £6bn+ for two ships the budget didn't run to that as well.

Yes your right, Ark Royal was the last and I have no idea why illustrious is the last one left the only reason I can think of is that it is the preferred ship by the admiralty and naval staff as a active member I've never heard a bad thing said about "Lusty"

We could send one and a small flotilla of supporting and escort ships anywhere in the world now to protect our interests and have a genuine capability to go with it,still it will take a few more years yet to get as others have stated to get the planes,and after the shakedown trials and test have been completed..
