Hello Good people,

I have a problem on my MAC where I seem to have an embedded program where going on the internet is keeps loading randomly a website called Dawngate (not porno). Also my adobe flash player seems to have stopped as I cannot watch videos off the BBC website.

And before you ask I turned it on / off and also re-set safari but still an issue.

Have you tried using a different browser ???

No, flash player back working but quite often when you open a web site it also opens the EA Sports Dawngate at the same time

Try Google Chrome, sometimes Safari doesn't block what Chrome does.. Also I'm sure you've tried clearing everything on your browser!

Try manually clearing everything in your Safari library:

Quit Safari.

Then, while holding down 'alt' key, go to the Finder > Go > Library

Then find username > Library > Safari and drag the entire folder to the trash.

Restart Safari and see how restored to new.

Had a few problems after BT Internet went down the other day. Could not use Seagulls Player today until I re-loaded Flash Player. Also found quite a few cookies had disappeared and had to be re-set - e.g. online banking. Are you on BT?

Sorry to bounce but there seems to be some embedded issue I have as follows and only when using NSC and the BBC websites.

NB I also followed the Rappers advice which did not work.

Whenever I am using NSC or BBC website at some point another web page opens for either Dawngate and EA web page or William Hill opens as well. Is there something embedded as I have cleared cookies etc but still persists.

Have you got any EA games installed that may be spawning browser windows?

There is malware for Macs, quite a bit at this stage, but I can't see more point in them opening EA related websites (Dawngate's an EA game); though the William Hill one might be.

Put something like Sophos on it and run it, you might find it will find the malware causing this
