Posted with Bozza’s permission, let’s see if NSC can come up trumps again, as I am told the last job vacancy had a high calibre of applicants and was successfully filled.

I work for a market leading recruitment consultancy, and I am looking for people to join my team to work as NSC’s old favourite, the Recruitment Consultant. This is a fast paced role with superb opportunities for the right people, both financially and for career development. Ideally I’m looking for people who are new graduates or have some sales experience, but this is not essential. What is essential, is a hunger, drive and desire to succeed, a can-do attitude, and an excellent telephone manner. This is not a 9-5 job, and it is not suitable for someone who wants to go through the motions and have an easy life. This is a cut-throat industry, and to succeed you need to be prepared to put in the hours, and the effort. If you do that, and are not scared of picking up the phone and talking to people, you will succeed. Application and attitude are 80% of the role.

The position is essentially a telephone sales based role, involving sourcing and matching experienced contractors to freelance roles within the pharmaceutical industry, and bringing on new clients through getting on the telephone and being proactive. It is an extremely fast-paced environment where you will be required to multi-task and work to challenging targets. You will be working in a fun, buzzy, exciting environment, with people who love what they do and will go to great lengths to succeed. It can be a bit of a Lion’s den, but for the right people it is a fantastic environment to work in.

This industry is not for everyone, and a large percentage of people don’t make the grade. For those that do, the rewards on offer are fantastic. You’re not going to get rich off the basic salary, but recruitment isn’t about the basic salary, it’s all about the commission. For someone coming in with no experience you can realistically expect to earn £30K in year one, £40-50K in year two, and £100K+ in year three. These figures are genuinely obtainable, and have been achieved by many people working for the company.
To give you the very best opportunity to succeed we provide the best training in the industry, along with extensive on-desk support and guidance. You will experience an initial 4 week training programme, in this time we will teach you how to transfer your experience and build the knowledge required to become a successful specialist recruiter within this sector.

You will undergo a 6 month probation period where you will be expected to achieve a specified revenue target before passing your probation and becoming a permanent employee.

We offer:

• Structured, ongoing in-house training programme
• Superb offices and an excellent working environment
• Industry leading commission structure
• Numerous financial incentives including monthly bonus, overseas travel, £2,500 holiday vouchers etc.
• Incentive trips abroad to be won (Miami, Vegas etc.)
• Genuine career progression opportunities with a clear, structured career path
• Fantastic earnings potential

Our office is based near Gatwick (easily commutable from Brighton with 45 mins on the train), and we are a global company with options for working in New York, Singapore, North Carolina & Germany once you are established in the role.

If you are interested then send me a pm and I’ll provide my email address for you to send your CV to. If I’m happy with your CV then we’ll have an initial telephone conversation, and then a face to face interview if that goes well.

This is a genuine opportunity to earn a LOT of money, build a rewarding career and have a great time doing so. And best of all, you’ll get to listen to my insightful, thought out, considered opinions on the Albion in person, rather than reading them on NSC.

Having read this job advert almost 18 months ago and having applied for it, I can safely say that despite being a Palace fan on here, it was a fantastic decision.

I started working with Commander at said company just over a year ago and whilst it's been an eye opener, I've enjoyed every minute of it. Commander's post is absolutely spot on, it's not an industry for everyone, nor will everyone succeed but a positive attitude, being self driven and wanting to be in control of your own destiny is a huge part of being successful in recruitment and the rewards are there in abundance.

It's true that it takes a while to get into it but once you're up and running, not only is it great fun in a communicative office, with great incentives to do well, but you'll also set yourself up for life by earning a great salary.

I try to be humble about it but in the last 6 months, I've set myself up to earn well over 150% of my basic salary in commission alone, far higher than most graduates and the best part is, it's only going one way - up.

In 2 weeks, I'll be heading to Las Vegas, where I also qualified for a room upgrade and business class flights, something I could never dream of in a standard 9-5 job.

If genuinely recommend this industry to anyone who has had some life experience like university, travelling, sales experience etc as it does take a relatively hardened exterior to succeed. I didn't consider myself to be at all "salesy" prior to joining but it's evident that knowing about the world and different cultures goes a long way as I've placed workers in 7 countries to date and had the chance to visit most of them.

Feel free to PM me if you'd like more information. Recruitment is genuinely enjoyable for many and I hope some of you would feel the same should you give it a chance!

Difficult industry in which to get it right - in financial services the good ones are very, very good, the bad ones are awful. In my experience (as a heavy user of RCs) once you've established a reputation for continual delivery you'll get a steady flow of business. From what Commander has written above (and supported by churley1) this sounds like a good one. If I was a bit (lot) younger.........

I hope you also give churley1 your views on Palace, too.

i would sincerely hope when churley1 expects to earn 150% of his basic in commission, in true palace fashion Commander only offers him and everyone else a mere 1p in the pound. maybe do it a second time next year and then after ruining those who expect payment, with all that stolen revenue, and unfair advantage Commander can claim to be better than the competitors or "market leading".

just a thought.

Why are all Recruitment Consultancies market leading?
I am not saying that your company isn't but you can't all be market leaders.

It is true, I have worked for 5 'market leading' consultancies. In truth, only two of them were actually market leading (this one is one of them).

I make sure I bully him relentlessly about Palace all day, don't worry.
