Are the lines that come out of the strikes kind of like triangulation? Is there a reason strikes seem to happen simultaneously even though they're hundreds of miles apart? Interesting link anyway

The lines that come out of the strikes lead to lightning detectors that have picked up that strike, you can switch them off by un-ticking the 'detectors' box on the left of the screen.
