While I accept that these might be useful if you're simply forgetful, surely the ability to just remove this device from whatever's just been stolen from you renders it a bit pointless, doesn't it?

Bike, guitar, camera - all protected. Levering the highly-visible device off - all done in a flash. Locating your tile in a bin on the High Street - priceless

what a great idea, the technology will only make them smaller and more discrete to make them easy to hide so thieves are less likely to find them - they are going to make some money
