Rooney and Hart wheeled out to apologise to the nation like 2 nodding Japs wailing in thier sushi!

No need to apologise in my Eyes! you wern't thrashed, you played pretty well and all can see the positives for the future. Defensively we have a lot to work on but we were never going to go far as we are a young team.

Instinct says you win few games conceding two goals. England have moved in two years from being poor with the ball to being poor without it. The latter is easier to solve from a coach's perspective so some reason to be cheerful.

I agree with that as our failure was down to bad and the wrong squad and team selection.

We could be grateful that the impotent England team of the last two World Cups weren't facing teams as strong as our opponents in our current World Cup group otherwise we'd have been truly whipped. The team of 2014 ran Italy and Uruguay close playing some very fluid football at times.
