Co - wrote some great pop songs. I was watching a show about Carol King last week and they ran through most of the songs her and Goffin wrote - some of the best known songs ever.

That's a pretty breathtaking list of songs. The titles scan musically in your head as you read them - that's how good and memorable they are.

He wrote one of my favourite 70s hits, back when I was a child-'Theme from Mahogany'

Haunting, yet beautiful. Every time I hear it my mind just wanders back to those days.

A great song writer and all memorable after all these years. Bacharach and David were another great song writing duo at that time.

Are there any new duos around now writing great music which will be remembered in a generations time.?
