Just heard the phrase "Overplayed by Chile." Immediately alerted my bullshit filter, as I hear all this sort of nonsense day in, day out at work. Is this the role of the co-comm? Expert analysis, for sure...but this sort of jargon? Not sure.
'Overplayed' is a term my rugby backs coach always used - i.e. trying too hard rather than patiently waiting for the gaps to open. It isn't a term I have heard in football before.
I use football on TV as prime time to listen to podcasts. I have heard no commentary for the world cup yet because of the terrible standards of commentary/punditry.
