brighton, actually
With spam, p&rn, ter rorism etc seemingly growing ever prevailant online (going by media reports), I wonder if its time to start again?

Also, level the playing field- seems youtube getting too big for its boots, to ban indie music labels if not signing up for crappy licensing terms..

Not sure it could be. Surely there is the technology that would allow people to have an 'anti net' still having the bad elements of the web as we know it.

We definitely need to get better at stopping these sites and blocking these horrific individuals. Should take down Football rumours while they are at it

Good idea, have a complete shut down and re-boot, having first set up a way of blocking viruses, spam and Maturedating.com from the outset.

I believe that there already is a "alternative" net.

Yes, the deep web. You need a different browser to access it, and I don't think there are any real search engines for it.

lets understand whats happening here: a media outlet wants to renegotiate the rates they pay for officially carrying content. on the one hand, the indies want money for something they dont pay for (massive global reach), on the other Google want to pay less for something they make money off.

really the indies should use this oppurtunity to build their own portal, they can control properly and gain advertising mulla rather than scraps of royalties. they have the content, they have the contacts of people who know how, do it.

I think you need to understand how the internet works, to 'reset' it
