The Iraq situation does worry me. It seems that the power vacuum will cause a civil war. The likely result of which will be another despotic regime oppressing the other factions of the population and possibly still providing a security threat to Iraq's neighbours.

Not supposed to be a power vacuum tho is it? The wobbly government installed to allow the UK/US forces to do a runner as soon as Western casualties became politically unacceptable was supposed to have the willpower and the manpower to rule the country when the West pulled out. Was never going to be the case. ISIS will be running the country before the month is out and the whole Iraqi army will have run away. What a complete and utter waste of British lives.

Let them get on with it and let the other Muslim countries sort it out for a change instead of just sitting on their arses.

When they take Baghdad and move onto Kuwait then Saudi Arabia might wake up and do something for a change instead of crying to the west for help then Muslims turning against us. Sick to the back teeth of us interfering in the middle east.

Same. All totally futile. And Afghanistan will be a pitiful re-run of Iraq. If the Russian army couldn't 'get the job done' in Afghanistan, then the West sure as hell were never going to fare any better. As the Taliban saying goes '"You have the clocks, we have the time."
